Dear Toby,
There are not enough words to express how much I enjoyed last night. Even though I have studied and taught Megillat Ruth many times, it felt entirely new to me. The combination of responsible textual analysis with a deep dive into the inner worlds of the characters—especially the women—the complexity of their conflicts and emotions, their relationships, all while connecting it to our own personal lives, was moving, empowering, and thought-provoking.
And all of this took place within a serious conversation about serving God and the spiritual significance of the Megillah.
The Playback Theatre tools you introduced to us and gave us the opportunity to experience are so different from conventional study. They are irreplaceable. They made me want to join a regular Playback group—especially to read biblical stories in this way.
In short: I learned a lot. I was deeply moved. And I love and admire you.

אין די מילים בפי לומר לך כמה נהניתי אתמול בערב.
למרות שלמדתי ולימדתי את מגילת רות פעמים רבות, הייתה בעיני כחדשה. השילוב של העיון האחראי בפסוקים עם הצלילה למעמקי הנפש של גיבורי - ובעיקר גיבורות - המגילה, למורכבות הקונפליקטים שלהם ושלהן, רגשותיהן, היחסים ביניהן- תוך כדי המפגש עם החיים הפרטיים שלנו, היה מרגש, מעצים ומעורר מחשבה. וזאת, תוך שיחה רצינית על עבודת ה' והמשמעות האמונית של המגילה.
הכלים של הפליי-בק שהצגת בפנינו ונתת לנו הזדמנות להתנסות בהם, שונים מאד מלימוד מקובל. אין להם תחליף. עשה לי חשק להצטרף לחוג פליי בק בקביעות. ומיוחד לקרוא כך את סיפורי התנ"ך. לסיכום: למדתי המון. התרגשתי מאד. ואני אוהבת ומעריצה אותך.
